When I get the message to get that bit inspection I try to get it done ASAP.
At least today is Sunday and not Friday evening, or you would have a very long wait.
I'm just outside Birmingham, AL about 20 miles from a 0800 live unload tomorrow morning.
Then I have a live load and delivery at a P&G about 400 miles away by late evening.
It will push my 14 very close.
Then I'll be trying to get loads to Denver for a Friday home time. I have a new computer to give my youngest daughter for her 12th birthday.
Next summer she gets to ride in the truck with me. WooHoo!!!

Problem is O/Os have to get an annual DOT EVERY 90 DAYS!
I got it done on time but got put on hold anyway. -
We got word from our DM that we're due for a B service. That's the down side of company teaming... B service every two months, which means sitting at a terminal for two days. This time, it'll be Lancaster.
-
Only takes me about an hour at either a TA or Petro.

At the J in Snowville, UT.
Rapid Response opened at 0645 and when I called at 0647 I was already off of maintenance hold.
On my way to OKC with a light weight Clearwater load. -
So how do you talk OnRoad into allowing a company truck to do a B service at a TA?
-
When I was with swift when I got with in 2000 miles of b'service I told my dm get me a load to salt lake city, Memphis or Columbus in and out with in 2 hour in slc same day or hours in Memphis or columbus
-
Alexandria, LA.
I delivered my load at P&G earlier, a nice and easy in and out.
My home time is set for the 23rd in Denver, but they keep sending me plans going east. One to GA and one to KY.
I keep turning them down.
There has to be something heading more north and west of here, I would think. -
You don't! Swift would rather the truck seize up than spend a dime for maintenance outside of their own shops.
-
The problem is (as normal) the planners could care less about your home time.
And that is IMHO the #1 reason Swift cannot keep driver's. Swift views us as a disposable commidity and has the highest turnover in the industry. This costs Swift A LOT of money but for some reason upper management is either too short sighted to see this or flat doesn't care.Last edited: Oct 20, 2015
