Sounds good, I believe the shortage is in my area and he was trying to tell that the hours will be available for the PSE. I'm looking forward for his call back. Thank you for the info

What are the career pay rates?
-
Would like to add Juan22soul that you get the 25% premium for Saturday and Sunday depending on when your shift starts. If your shift starts at 1900 saturday night and again at 1900 on Sunday evening...you get 16 hours of added premium. We have those kinds of shifts at USPS in and around Chicago.

You are correct, different districts start at different pay rates for PSE's. Regular pay rates for level 8 drivers is the same nation wide. There are some areas that offer premium pay for cost of living, but is accounted for separately. Like a separate housing allowance like they have in the military. However I think they have done away with these.

We are short probably 5 drivers, I along with 2 others are retiring next year. We also are getting new trucks, specking out new Freightliners, probably with Autos. Will be getting them in the spring. Ryder is providing them on lease to buy, with full main contract. Whit with US Postal Service on Doors. They got 6 of them last month at Cardis Collins Downtown Chicago. Our trailer situation is terrible...They just won't get new ones. They are pretty stupid when it comes to knowledge about trucking.

I was offered a job last December in KC was looking for part time which was advertised. The usps transportation manager told me I would have to be full time until after the holidays running 10 to 12 hours 6 days a week start time was like 4:30 am $19 per hour I told them that I was only interested in a part time (I am retired) it was already a 35 minute drive so I told them if a real part time position opens to call got a couple more calls but they were for what I turned down I guess they were hoping I would bite
Matheson usps contractor pays $24 per hour and 5 days a week and they have a Sunday/Monday run pays the same but is part time -
At the time I was looking for something couple days a week
I am now in the process of getting a dump to run local from the quarry just have to go sit in the scale house til someone calls
I am set up to volunteer at the local VA and DAV but can't do that day in and day out
I hate sitting around and since I have the basement finished and all the grass cut I stare at the clock until the wife gets home she just got her 20 with her company but needs to meet age requirements before we can take off and travel to FL Keys -
I had checked here in Atlanta out if curiosity. Looks like only the seasonal positions are available at $16.96 per hour IIRC. Doesn't seem like it would be worth it since you have to work any hours they need.
