Strange or bizarre tips for drivers

This is true....... I don't think most people realize how much cleaning goes on 24 hours a day at a large commerical dairy.............

 

I wonder how many folks realize that SOMEone has to physically climb INto those milk tankers --
and scrub 'em out and rinse them completely after every load?
Claustrophobic?
Hot?
Steamy?
Slippery?

 

Sour milk......... yuk.......

Besides, I think they only prod ya if y'all
pass out inside the tanker.
Might owe 'em a thanx for doin' that.
(I wonder how it feels when y'all are wet?)

 

I am picturing thats where all the drippings go???
I am always surprised that them bull wagons don't have stuff coming out of them
And why is it a dairy farm can smell kinda good, country like
You all know what I mean right???
But a bull wagon stinks something terrible!!!!!

 

A lot of those dairy cows also get some really good quality feed........ probably helps with the odor....
Not to mention........ I think most of the beef being hauled around is feed lot quality......... talk about nasty, dirty and stinky!!!

Descending hills; I like to descend long mountain grades in a gear low enough to descend the hill without using the brakes, or at least slow enough to only use the brakes to check my speed, about ten seconds of brake every thirty seconds. While some drivers would think this is too slow, the more you use your brakes, the less braking power you will have as the brake become hot. It’s better to reach the bottom of a hill and say, “I could have come down faster.” Than not reach the bottom and say, “I should have come down slower.” It’s better to error on the side of caution. By descending the hill slow enough to not use the brakes, or use the brakes a little, you have your full braking capability if you need to stop. In 31 years of driving truck, I’ve never smoked my brakes on a long mountain grade, I’ve been passed by a lot of guys who have.

I totally agree with that statement.

My trainer told me that you can go down a mountain grade too slow as many times as you want, but only once going too fast.
