They have a couple different programs. Giving Bradley a call and giving him your financial situation would provide a more direct answer. I don't think you would need any money down on any of it.
There seems to be plenty of miles but if you're like me and lacking a FAST card for Canada. Get it as it will give you a ton more options, add hazmat to that and even more. They can help you get both.
I'm from Lancaster PA and they all but begged me. Your closer to Toledo so I would call and get the low down.

Ok Thank you.

I suppose a update is in order as it's been a few weeks.
Overall, I'm happy with my choice. Honesty hoping for more preplanned loads but was told that they need to get an idea of how I run. (I understand that) Weekly miles has been a bit low, averaging 1500. To their defense, there's a few loose ends to take care off that take time but also keep me from getting more freight. Obtaining and waiting for FAST and TWIC cards. Hazmat is in the hands of the FBI so yeah...
The 65 mph limited truck is taking some getting used to. Yeah, I feel the same but it's a Canadian thing if we want to run there. Besides the fuel mileage is better this way.
I can say that I have yet to step inside a trailer or stand on a dock other than one time. That was to remove nails and 2x4's from a load of batteries.Loke Thanks this. -
Alright, so an update. Guess I say I finally found something that grinds my ###. I like to know what I'm doing and if there isn't any loads happening at the moment. I don't care to be stuck where I just unloaded while dispatch finds a load. When I ask for input on which direction to head out if I can head to the closest truck stop. I get zero response, zero.
Other than that, I'm happy. Been to Canada had an issue with Sprint not turning on my international service. But that was just a speed bump.traveler770 and Loke Thank this. -
It's been a couple months and while I like work I do there are few concerns that need addressed.
One of the things that burn my ### is the lack of communication while they secure a load. Being in the business as long as I have. I know there are days when things just don't move, it happens and I accept it. But the office needs to make the driver aware of this. Sitting at the place I just delivered for hours waiting for a load is nerve racking enough but not hearing anything drives me crazy.
(Used to be a time when bouncing to the closest truck stop was the thing to do. But the hours rule in combination with the new e-log reg makes it undoable.)traveler770 and Loke Thank this. -
If I don't have a load assigned after I deliver I go to off-duty personal conveyance and head to the nearest good parking area to wait. That way it keeps me off duty and working towards my 10 or 34 hour break if they don't have anything right away.
traveler770 and Loke Thank this. -
I use that grey area as well when things are close by.Loke Thanks this.

Can you tell me about the lease and the type of money you can make? What areas you run and home time?
-
All of the details are in this thread. Personally, I'm doing okay financially here. It's still early on in my leasing adventure and I feel things will improve even more.Loke Thanks this.

Wow! Been awhile since I posted anything. So may as well now.
I've been running my ### off and in need for time off. By choice I decided to stay out for a month but it quickly turned into two. I have however requested a week plus off to catch up on the to-do list at home.
While I can't speak for others on this forum. I've been getting plenty of miles. And am happy overall with my choice. The 65 mph speed limit is a drag. Some days it's hard to swallow, most it doesn't bother me. Hah, with all this time out. I almost need a bigger truck.
I've been pulling a reefer box for awhile now that has gotten me into a few grocery warehouses. Just wrote out a comcheck and acted as professional as they deserved. Been around the block with these places so no surprises. Also had a few interesting Hazmat loads to mix things up.traveler770 and Loke Thank this.
