I'll tell you, briefly, what all he's told me. The orientation was a bit of a joke. They didn't really go over much of anything and it wasn't really put together very well. He's reading over the handbook now, trying to figure everything out. And itaff knows about the issues he had yesterday with the truck Bruenger had him drive up to the dealership to get his leased truck. That was a frustrating mess, but after a few hours, he was back on the road.
He at least has his permits, but another guy is still waiting on his. When he went up to get his truck, I guess Bruenger was supposed to let him know info about the whole thing, but he knew nothing. The dealership had a hotel room booked for him, but he didn't find out about it until yesterday afternoon when he called the dealership to find out what time to be there this morning.
All in all, he's not impressed, but because of everything you've said here, and the fact that he just started, he's taking these little issues with a grain of salt and going to just keep on trucking, make the best of it and figure things out as he goes. As long as they have the miles for him, I have no doubt he can make it work. He's pretty awesome!
On a side note, even though the Volvo 670 he is leasing is base (as per Roadrunner's request), it does have a massaging seat! It's a brand new truck, with just 122 miles on it! It's white, but we plan on getting some nice decals to put on it and fancy her up a bit once we start making some money. He's nervous about the automatic. He's already tried pushing in the clutch, haha!

Bruenger is a horrible place to work. It used to be one of the best in the area until roadrunner bought them out now they just suck. Any employee who is worth a #### left there long ago. You probably won't get many miles, you will set a lot due to the refer loads they haul. You more than likely won't get home often either. I worked for them for 8 years so I was there as roadrunner took over and watched the company fall apart.
Joetro Thanks this. -
Have you read through this thread? Itaff is doing pretty well there! It may not be the same Bruenger as before, and it does have its issues, but no company is perfect.
itaff Thanks this. -
Oh I know they have issues. I have read through some of the thread. I hope you didn't base your decision to work there on what he had to say. They bankrupted 5 of my personal friends as well as my father but hey what do I know. Its one of the only places I have worked that when you go turn in your fuel card and tell them you are quiting they say I don't blame you haha! Its a shame that butch bruengers name is even on their equipment.

Lol.. I guess if they could use a cash advance I could spot him a little.. Hehe!!
Now I know why they call you mountaingoat!! Hehe / by the way where was that free lunch you where talking about?? Lolmountaingote Thanks this. -
Wow.. You know you should go make a post and thread your experience on..
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you and all your friends, father and self had. But I know just as many that own there trucks and that have been here for years. I've spoken to drivers who have paid of there trucks and leased a second truck to bring on.
I personally am doing great, I love coming to work. My experience has been great! I am here to help and share these experiences and see other drivers do well.
I post the good the bad and the ugly, I see lots of guys come and go. But the ones who don't make it are the ones living outside there means. They take pay advance because they spend all there money every week on silly stuff. They don't budget for repairs and brake downs, they think the company is responsible for this. They refuse loads because they don't get paid 2.00 a mile and are to proud to take 1.20 load 400 miles to get into a better freight lane.. They try and do there own book keeping and don't understand the #s the need to be successful..
There is truth that not every person will make this work, because not every person is smart enough to run a business.. There is a lot to having a business model and being able to live by the guidelines of that business model..
Now as far as gjcarr03, I've meet her husband and he is an intelligent man, he has had a rough few days, but he will make it, because like me and the many others, he has what it takes to succeed..mountaingote and gjcarr03 Thank this. -
Well everyone, just having another bad week here a Bruenger!! Dam it, I'm only going to get 4 loads in this week and bring home somewhere between 1800 - 2200 dollars.. Man life sucks, why did I ever do this... The worse part is next week looks a lot like this week, more misery, and more money.. Lol
Anyway, man I love waking up in the morning and looking out this big window to watch the sun rise.. I think God for the opportunity to have another day in this great big world..
I am sitting in North Wisconsin, just unloaded and going to eat so breakfast..
The only thing that would make it better is if mountiangoat would of been here to pay for it.. Haha!!
Hope we are all successful today, but if not today tomorrow will work just as well..stormy379, scottlav46, mountaingote and 1 other person Thank this. -
He has to be intelligent! He did marry me, after all!
And I tell him all the time that if anyone can make this work, it's him. He is the hardest, most dedicated worker I know! He will bust his butt and go without to provide all he can for his family. As long as his three girls and I are taken care of, he's happy.
scottlav46, mountaingote and itaff Thank this. -
Wow, you have three daughters?? No wounded he wants to go over the road.. Lol
I have 5 sons and 2 daughters, and the 2 daughters run me.. And I'm too scared to stop them.. Lol
I always know when I am about to spend some money, because I go from being called dad to being called daddy... Lol
You guys sound like you have a beautiful family..RERM, T.Rucker, scottied67 and 3 others Thank this. -
Haha, yeah. He joked that when our girls hit their teenage years that he would go back over the road. Well, the older two are 13 and 14... He went back over the road last year, just in time, lol.
RERM, mountaingote and itaff Thank this.
