After you get your clearance, each driver will be paid a base pay of $1200. You also get paid a weekly bonus that is based on your miles for example let's say you start at two cents a mile and run 3000 miles each driver will receive a $60 a week. You get regular raises on that weekly bonus so it adds up quickly.TruckDuo Thanks this.

Nope, they had TWIC cards already too. They were hauling DOD the week prior to SLT orientation.

Drivers who worked for that company don't like seeing other people get the shaft on their settlement!

This thread is NOT intended to be a recruitment site, bash the company, bash drivers, insults or otherwise emotional outlet for anyone. If a driver has a relevant question(s) related to our experience at SLT last summer, please ask. Of course anyone is free to post or read whatever they want and hopefully make an informed decision. The purpose of my initial comment is mainly to state facts from our experience and allow drivers to discern which company may best suit them.

It would seem the game changer at SLT since my initial comment is elimination of the ninety days before benefits program. That is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, I presume all the issues presented in my experience there remain the same.Last edited: Oct 23, 2015

If a driver qualifies as a transportation industry worker, he or she may use the DOT per diem rate of $59 ($65 outside the continental United States). A problem I have is how SLT advances that money (a driver would qualify for anyway) and presents it in advertising as if that untaxed federal allowance money is being earned by the driver and paid for by the company.Last edited: Oct 23, 2015
