A month ago the AC went out on my 2010 International Pro-star and we replaced the condenser, AC Compressor, dryer, expansion valve, filter, and the compressor line to the condenser. After that the AC worked for one day and then quit working again. So then I took it to an International Dealership and they replaced the thermistors. Then it worked really well up until now (about a month) and now it only comes on when the truck is driving but doesn't come on when in idle or stopped. The fan is not coming on either and I do not have an override switch for the fan. I did just have some work done at Cummins a few days ago and they fixed the exhaust manifold gasket and replaced the filter on the crank case as well as did an oil change and changed a clogged oil filter. There are no lights on in the truck at this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If they recalibrated the ecm there is a good chance that "multiplexing" got turned off accidentally. Multiplexing is a parameter setting that allows the ECM to communicate properly with the body controller. Call the Cummins shop and ask them if they recalibrated the ECM.

Thank you for your response. I just called Cummins and they said they did not recalibrate the ECM. They think it may be a censor out but said they don't work on AC units.

I would still have someone double check the parameter settings on the ecm. I've gone through and had a few that had parameters changed by someone that didn't know what they were doing.

I would figure out the issue with the fan first. Your fan not coming on at idle would affect how well the a.c. works at idle because the condensor cannot do it's job without airflow.

Check and make sure the fan solenoid is working and there is also a three wire pressure switch in line going to your condesor that controls a.c.

There is also a parameter setting in the ecm that enables fan control using that sensor.
