Changed from a reliable now old PC76 and newer LTD29 both maintained by Clays (San Antonio) on a 367 Pete with dual W2000s dialed in.

Bought a G98V2 and was happily surprised by reception improvement. Added a West Mountain Radio digital processing speaker and can pick up signals others around me cannot receive/decipher.

Been reading CB forums for years, but don't recall this as a discussion: what mobile has the best reception?

I plan to keep on spending on this hobby (latest truck will be a late 660 KW), so antennas will be upgraded along with attention to vehicle bond, not just cleanest power to radio.

I much enjoy picking some guy claiming he's working skip off a Hawaiian volcano (makes me smile), and whether or not I can also pick up some of his cross continent replies. Etc.

Great ears get my attention. Any opinions (where other factors are good)?

    Thx.

The receive is pretty much determined by the technician that tuned the radio if it has been tampered with. Otherwise the limitations of the receive are published in the owners manual. Most of them are pretty comparable from the factory with noticeable static. A good technician can boost the receive of any radio but good technicians are in short supply nowadays.
