What is that? Exhaled second hand smoke?
-
I'm guessing that refers to residue of some sort left behind after the smoker has left the vehicle.
-
You are correct
-
I've actually seen some of Regency's equipment running around New England(especially around Poland Spring in Hollis,Maine) and it does leave a lot to be desired. The trailers are rustbuckets and some of the tractors have a film of cigarette tar on the windows(you think it's just dirt or dust on those windows but it ain't)I almost considered working for them. Almost..

Any company who advertises that you are going to make an amount of money that only a select few are able to, is being dishonest and not a company I would want to work for. Drivers need to start holding these carriers to their word instead of rationalizing everything with "all trucking companies lie".
-
Our ad's are on craigslist and we advertise for $900-1100 per week for regular local driving positions. There are no jobs posted anywhere except dedication NYC delivery drivers that state any more than that.
We have a few local drivers that do make $65 to 70k per year. they typically work 6 days per week and hustle, but it is possible.
> You did not say anything about allowing smoking in the trucks nor how the lack of accountablity allows the > trucks to be dirty and nasty.
There will not be any smoking allowed in the new trucks coming in next year and we are working on the cleanliness issue. Did you leave the trucks clean when you dropped them off for the day? -
Unfortunately this is new England and the equipment takes a beating, but overall I would put our equipment against any other medium fleet out there. We do have 100 new trailers arriving shortly to replace some of the older equipment. But again, our fleet operates entirely in the northeast which is salt central, so we can only do so much about the rust.
-
Yeah that salt eats those trailers alive. My company does a lot of business up in the northeast and you can tell a marked difference between the trailers in the northeast rotation, and the ones that aren't.
Blue Beacon should offer cheap undercarriage washes during the winter months. -
No kidding. We have over 500 trailers so they don't get washed nearly as often as they should.
