Hello friends! Let me begin by saying that I am from California. I haul from Modesto, CA to Sumner, WA and back. I deal with one broker, and they're very consistent. I get a load every Monday from Modesto, CA to Sumner, WA for $1750 and back-haul from the same people for $1200 to Sacramento, CA. The only thing is the back haul is never pre-ready. They usually pay me after 30 days! They don't have quick pay option. I am credible person, so I am just wondering if I should stick with these brokers. Before these brokers, I had jerks agents from DAT load-board, and every week was different load, and back haul was a nightmare. These guys get me a load every-week, and find me back-haul. I run reefer both ways. How are other people doing with their brokers?
I need help with my broker!

honestly , long as they are paying you good( sounds like it) leave it be. so it takes 30 days to get paid, its not taht bad. that unless you run your finces so tight your are counting ont hat to make a check at the end of the week.

I dont know anything about reefer rates. But seems a lil low to me. Flatbed frieght inbound rate into cali is usually much higher then outbound. If y our happy and content with the money its all up to you

I haven't run that lane recently and I know rates have come down, but in the spring and summer I could get anywhere from $1,800 - $2,500 going from the Sacramento area to the Seattle area and $800-$1,000 coming back -- a bit over $2/mile including deadhead...
That was in a dry van, so I suspect you could be doing better in the reefer, but I don't know for sure. Maybe @Blu_Ogre has a better ideaspectacle13 Thanks this. -
I am very new to this o/o thing...but I follow my gut. The fact that you are asking on here makes me wonder how I would feel.
If I were posting on here it would mean I wasn't happy with it. Did you find another offer that sounds better? Have you tried using online load boards to get more money during that run timeframe? Without mapping it out it sounds a bit low...I have no experience with reefer...just van and flatbed. If it's a sure thing...paid every time...if I was too tight on money I'd keep it. There is NOTHING wrong with bringing up the late load. Letting them know your other loads are running behind because of the wait with them. If you are on time, they an be some of the time too. -
First thing to realize is 30days in this industry is fast pay. Most of us are running around kicking doors in at 90 looking for money. Steady, predictable revenue is a good thing. Even if the rate is a little light.
PSUMoose Thanks this. -
Honestly, if they're paying you as you say, there is no problem. If you need more cash flow, maybe look at "factoring". Some guys are against it, but at the same time a lot of companies use factoring. Sure they may take a little percentage, but you will have your pay every week.
Starboyjim Thanks this.
