We all know recruiting lies but this recruiter I had for Mercer really takes the cake. In coming to Mercer in June 2015 I not only lost my truck but cannot pay my bills or do maintenance on my lease truck. Mercer has a "good old boy" load board so new drivers can only see loads that Mercer wants you to see. Mercer has "driver coordinators" that don't have your best interests at heart so you can actually dispatch yourself But...you are on a number system and often times you can't get the load you want. The rates are very bad and if you have a truck and trailer note and like where you live then you can't work here. Time to move on.

    Ok big boy Thanks this.

Theres a whole mercer section on this site and abut 99% of the drivers seem to be happy...Sounds like your money problems developed before you arrived at Mercer?

Actually no and I'm quite sure your numbers are wrong but you are probably one of them! When's the last time you sat over your meal at a truck stop and really listened to what Lands tar says about Mercer? I didn't ask for your opinion but Thx anyway. So glad you are happy tho! If you can't make enough money off a trip to pay your bills and maintain your truck then it's not a good idea to lease on to Mercer.

I don't sit at Truck-stop lunch counters... Maybe you should read a little more there is plenty of information on land-starves rates, so for what they say is irrelevant...

And No I don't work for Mercer but, find it interesting they have a thread with countless guys able to make the payment they have and do ok... maybe your not cut out for an O/O position... Plenty of company positions are hiring that you could succeed at...

Why would you post on a public forum, if you don't want anyone's opinion?

Doesn't really mater as once CELADON takes over Mercer it will be crappy for everyone.

I'm just trying to warn anyone from making a mistake like I did. And FYI I've been an o/op for 20 plus years. Just wanted a change up but it's not what it appears on their website. I will continue to be an o/op and am on the way to a much better company that was trying to recruit me before I went to Mercer.

O/O for 20 years and you have a lease truck? I think we found the real issue.
