I actually called these folks two weeks ago now looking at a Peterbilt they had for 49K, And this is how the conversation went:
The 1st lady I spoke to sounded completely annoyed with me for asking about the truck I was interested in, then she placed me on hold and then transferred the call to the gulf port office where another lady answered and said : AH YES! But that truck has been sold but I can find you another one (red flag for me right there) when I asked about the program Ah Yes! 5995 down and 1200 a month its a straight forward lease to own and no balloon at the end blah blah blah all i need is your info and we can put together the file and you can fly out and pick up your truck! (Me) Thats great! Ok wait hold on, I thought you said you sold that truck? Hmm well ok ... my name is, my address is, the name of my company is... Wait... What? Credit card?? why again? why do you need my credit card info over the phone? (red flag #2) What 500.00 application fee? why again? paperwork? Wait I thought you said it was a straight forward deal? Um let me get back to you on the truck.
Then I did some research here on this site and on Rippoff report.... Some other drivers here actually fell for the 500.00 BS application processing fee My better spidey senses say away from these guys i smell a rat,HOWEVER I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
I would love to hear ANY success stories about using this Dealership and their purchase program, because I am in the market for a truck, and it seems some these outfits are sketchy at best. One caviot I have heard good things about Lone Mountain just dont have what i am looking for....isnt that how it goes..
