I generally don't call fake much but there is something in this video that seems odd to me hence my question. If you receive a DOT long form inspection with no violations do you have to sign it? This trooper just hands the form over with no request for driver to sign it. I' ve had several no violations inspections and I always had to sign.
A question about DOT inspections.

This isn't fake, this happened in Illinois and was on the local news here in Chicago...
-
OK, thanks. I was not calling it fake just saying because of the no sign inspection I was wondering if maybe it was. I would still love to know about this signature.
-
I could be wrong, but I think I have had 1 or 2 time that I didn't have to sign the inspection either... Not 100% sure...
-
Its like getting a ticket.. whether you sign itor not, you face the penalty. Your signature doesnt make it reality, the officers does. Lol

The few times I've been inspected, they've always found something stupid wrong with my truck or trailer. So, always had to sign. There was once in Ohio where I got pulled over for a random in a brand new truck. Less than 500 miles on it. Occifer started doing his thing having me turn the signals on and blow the horn, etc. Then stepped back and asked me how old the truck was. He just shook his head and told me to go on my way. I asked for a copy of the inspection and he said he wasn't doing the paperwork on a new truck.
As for the vid, that occifer is the typical Illinois state trooper. Does whatever he wants til he gets called out on it. They speed constantly. Always seem to have a cell phone to their ear too. They are not above the law and should be made to follow the same laws they enforce. I understand that at times they need to speed. But that should only be allowed during an emergency. Not while on routine patrol. Or on the way to the doughnut shop. -
Funny to see 'tore-up' po-po vehicles though

Even though the driver was in the right, I can't imagine doing anything like that. He is inviting police attention and then snapping back at him which is rarely ever a good thing.
That Guy Fawkes mask suggests he isn't new to this though.
