Schneider or Werner?

So I am deciding between Schneider or Werner. Naturally I keep reading stories online of both..and well both sound like your typical starter/rookie company. I would have to team drive/train with Werner for 275 hours but their orientation is only 2 days and I at least can have my own hotel room during that time. Their fleet of trucks are very nice as well.

Schneider has 2 week training with 1 week OTR but to have my own hotel room would cost me a lot of coin (for 2 weeks obviously). I thought at least with Werner I'd get more practical road experience than sitting in a classroom for 2 weeks with Schneider and only getting the 1 week OTR training.

    Any suggestions all?

Get a job dude! Holy cow.

How long have you been at this and how many companies have invited you to orientation?

Get in a truck and start the process.

Do you wanna drive a blue truck, or drive a orange truck?

I would recommend doing the 275 hours with a trainer. Especially this time of year. There will be a lot of times in the beginning where experience will pay off. And having experience sitting beside you is better than none at all when the white stuff starts falling. Just my opinion.

I bet @Chinatown can help you with more options than just those two.

Um, well considering the lack of experienced trainers at both companies I consider it a crap shoot. 6 months solo experience qualifies you as a trainer at Werner.

Gotta agree. Stop overthinking it. They're both gonna be about the same.

Is there a " lease your own truck " option in this thread or did I make a wrong turn ?

I've never worked for either. But SNI might have more options for a career path then Werner. And I have a hard time believing that SNI sets you out solo after 1 week with a trainer. Sounds more like 2 weeks classroom. A week at the yard learning to back and stuff. Then I'm guessing they will send you out with a trainer as part of the second phase or something. You should look further into that.

Lightside and Straight Stacks Thank this.
