9 wide and a hazmat into california only got pulled in twice for inspection. Actually talked my way out of both. Only reason it was a hazmat is the tanks weren't purged, although it was empty. 20151025_195814.jpg

No room,.. plus it was all 6x6.

Few weeks back I delivered some equipment to an Amish saw mill. I asked how much they would sell me some 8' long hardwood 4x4's. He asked how many I needed. I said oh maybe 3 or 4, I didnt have a lot of cash on me. Next thing I know he has one of the boys bring me 6 hardwood heavier than Godzilla 4x4's and leaves them on my upper deck. I ask how much? He says dont worry about it.

Major cool. I have plenty of dunnage.

Gravy light weight load, 6 bundles of pipe went all the way to Thunder Bay, ON. Over 800 miles.

In to the same place I went a few weeks ago via logging roads. Turns out I couldn't pull the load up more than one of the hills. Turned out to be a PITA but I got through it. Still kind of cool.

Oh, and I ran over a dog at 100km/h earlier this week. If you notice the bumper is damaged in the last photo.

I wouldn't mind seeing a gun stock made out of one of those.

I cant get any hardwood in Fla. Alabama and Georgia yellow and white wood is pretty much it. That and an average cheap sheet of thin plywood is $27. After the hurricanes in 2004, wood prices skyrocketed and never came back down.

The 4x4's those Amish guys gave me are tough as steel. Feels like they weigh every bit of 60 - 80lbs. I grabbed one thinking it was like my others,.. nearly threw my shoulder out of the socket, not expecting the weight.
