I don't know a lot about the glass div. I have heard drivers say they like it and some had complaints. I heard they have bought new trailers and are still buying them. On the flat side we have some junk trailers also,, but mostly good shape. As far as the snidey trucks all the ones I have seen look brand new.

I was hearing (you know how truckers talk) that when Mav bought the glass division, Schneider was supposed to supply so many trucks (300?) and so many trailers (800?) but could only "find" 300 of the trailers. Any truth to it? Did Maverick even buy the glass division from Schneider?

The load I have now goes to NLR, but it won't be me taking it there. It is going to my house and someone will come get it. Vacation time for me!:biggrin_25520: You get your truck and maybe we will cross paths somewhere.

Hey Champ. Yeah I went out on JT's truck when I hired on. I was not with him long as I was a former driver. He cut me loose soon. He said I handled the truck as well as him and I would learn how to secure different loads as I drove. He wasn't kidding,,,,:biggrin_25523: When he picked me up he had a load of gray bar that was on the way to be del. We dropped that and got a load of skidded coils. Then a load of shingles. Last load was a short load of particle board about 4 feet tall. All simple things to secure and tarp. Only 2 of those loads needed tarped.

1st thing I got was a big coil. The live version of that is a lot different than the big wooden spool you practice on in the barn.:biggrin_25523: Since then I have lost track what I got. Tall loads, guard rail loads, military loads, hay loads,,,, etc... there is a lot of challenges to securing... that is what makes it interesting.

Your book will have a lot of diagrams in it and they will give you numbers to call if you are not sure how to secure something or you can talk to another mav driver and they will tell you mav's policy on securing it. They can not show every type of load that you will secure in a book, but after a year you will pretty much have hauled about everything. I still get a load every now and then that I have not hauled yet. The load I brought home was sheet steel and 2 coils. I have hauled a lot of both, but never at the same time. We go to a lot of the same places so you will know what your getting and where you will go from there with it, but they will throw you a curve every now and then and bounce you somewhere else.

JT did not seem like the computer type. I was surprised he knew about this site. He knew my cb handle is notarps so I guess it was pretty easy to put it together.:biggrin_2559: Good luck and keep me posted on how it goes for you.
