I've been driving for 17 years.
The first 10 years I was a regular pot smoker.
I had one of those fake pen...is things for drug test.
Not one accident or ticket or even a DOT violation in those 10 years.
Saw many a driver that didn't smoke pot have accidents, get dumb tickets, out of service violations, you name it.
Sooooo, I guess the point I'm trying to make is that many of you see a thread like this and see an opportunity to get on your high horse so you can pretend you're automatically better than someone who smokes pot.
You're not, at least not always, back when I was smoking pot Id put my safety record, and driving record up against anyone of you ' I'm so much better than any pothead types'
No I don't condone doing it at work, and leaving it in the truck is incredibly dumb. But it should absolutely be just as legal as alcohol and tobacco as it is much safer. Aspirin has killed more people than pot ever will.
I only quit because I got married and decided it wasn't fair to my wife for me to take the chance of getting caught and being tried by a jury of ignorant 'all drugs are bad' types.
The most dangerous part of marijuana is getting caught.nitetride379x, Kayman282, Dumdriver and 6 others Thank this. -
I have no problem with regulation. I agree it does not mix with driving, but they need to come up with a new test. The current testing only shows if you have used in the last month roughly. They need to find a way to test if someone is currently under the influance, like they do for alcohol.
I am not here to insult or anger anyone, just to have a rational discussion and possibly open some people's eyesDumdriver, SISYPHUS, Canned Spam and 2 others Thank this. -
I'd agree with that.
Getting caught for someone else's marijuana, really, really dangerous.Canned Spam Thanks this. -
I get it, just curious...did you consider pursuing a degree in engineering, since you are mechanically inclined?

Sounds like a bit of a weedy story mate.
bubbavirus Thanks this. -
Agreed , especially on the testing part. That would make its use or its time frame of use less of an issue. Just like the rules on taking a drink. What is it , 4 hours before going on duty you can't. Maybe increase that to 8 hours , just to be safe. All kinds of variables could be debated or put into legislation. Try and keep emotions out of it and use factual info to support any new standards. Might take time , but worth the effort I would think.chris886 Thanks this.
