Do you realize that if God forbid you are in an accident and someone dies even if it is 100% not your fault, they WILL drug test you and when they find THC in your system you WILL go to prison for manslaughter. Even if you were not high at the time. It is not right, but it's reality. That's not a risk I'm wiling to take.

Judging by the responses here, its safe to say this industry is still full of the scum of the earth.
Good on you The Patriot. I would have done the same thing. The Patriot and Canned Spam Thank this. -
No one has yet said what business is it of theirs it is what someone else does if it costs you no money or dies you no physical harm
-
Yes a bunch a people said that already. The literacy rate among truckers is staggering. Its a stupid point because this pot head left the #### in The Patriot's truck, making it HIS problem. And as someone else mentioned, a company with drug marks on their record will cause their trucks to get pulled into the scales more often jeapardizing the drivers PSP score making it everyones problem who works there. The Patriot and Bakerman Thank this.

Did you read any of the 242 posts before this?
It is hard to accept that many of the members here are considered my peers after reading this thread.
From the suggestions of physical violence to the admitted use of marijuana while driving a CMV.
Sad.Elroythekid and joseph1135 Thank this. -
Legal or not, testing only for the psycoactive metabolite would make entirely too much sense.
FinkPloyd and De Trucker Thank this. -
I hope I'm misreading this statement, but this to me is translating to "once a smoker, always stupid".
Nothing could be further from the truth. -
So, then what? We should ignore it? There is no absolute way to test if someone was under the influence of alcohol at the time of a crash either, they don't administer breathalyzers or BAC tests on the side of the road. As with alcohol, the test occurs later, the stop and arrest are the result of.......wait for it......PROBABLE CAUSE.

You missed the point, the claim from the pro-pot lobby, marijuana users don't use and then drive, this has been proven to be a lie, even though they keep trying to stick to that argument.

Do you honestly believe that someone that had 1 beer/wine/shot and was arrested for DWAI was on their way to the same?
And you know what, in 80% of the instances, the cops were right. I can honestly say, pot users are not the brightest peas in the pod. One of the national magazines had an article about it a few months back, the talked to the cops in the surrounding states, and looked at the stats, the fact was, the people they stopped, all did something else to cause the stop, that they solely had Colo. plates was not the primary reason. Go talk to the cops in Ogallala, Ne., they've had a massive pot problem two summer in the row at McConahey with Coloradoans. Local consumer advocate show, caller last week was seeking legal advice, he got stopped in Ok., 10 over, with pot in the car, heading to Texas. Second question from the host of the show: There have been numerous news stories, articles, etc. about states around Colo. profiling Colo. plates for trafficking marijuana, what made you think you wouldn't get caught?
Caller: I figured the odds were in my favor
Host: And you were speeding, did you think they would ignore that?
Caller: .............
Host: What is the potential penalty?
Caller: My lawyer said I'm looking at 120 days in jail and a $10,000 fine for the pot...........
Criminal defense lawyer Guest on the show: How much pot did you have in the car?
Caller: About 2 lbs
Host: Goodbye, you're an idiot....and hung up on the caller.
