The reason pot prohibition should be ended has nothing to do with Puritanism. It's because the Constitution grants NO authority to the federal government to regulate drugs. Therefore, the 10th Amendment makes drugs a state issue. Let the people of each state decide for themselves.
Marijuana and trucking....

Short story. Jumped in a condo to do a delivery for the boss. Ended up staying in the truck for a week. Finally started to move in and found a bag full of white powder in a cubby hole. Almost sh#t my pants. Id been driving around 3 states for a week with that in the truck. Do you really think the cops would've take my word. Interior pre trips are also a good idea.
Elroythekid, Ssssnake, joseph1135 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You're being reasonable again, Tony.
Years ago, I was making a return trip from Mexico with some other drivers. We all checked in with Customs, got cleared and were walking through. Suddenly, every dog in the area was coming our way. With the dogs came about 3 rifles. I looked straight ahead and kept walking. The guys behind me started to slow. The dogs went after one of the drivers. Customs detained him. Suddenly the synapses kicked in and the remaining drivers wanted to defend weed. This made the 3 rifles twitchy, and more guns began to arrive.
I'm separated from the action, but I had friends in the group. I stop, turn around and yell, "Keep walking, you idiots! He's gone!" They were reluctant to leave a fellow driver, but they did. They caught up with me and started doing the same thing that these guys do here, defend weed. Same MO. Stupid. Some bonehead bombs, gets arrested crossing international border with product illegal in both countries, and they just have to defend the weed.
Now on the other hand, if they were ever to allow drugs in a CMV, they should do crank. At least it would make slacker competitive. -
You know, it's the same mentality that hurts you guys in this business. Your brains fire in such a slow predictable manner that Deskjockeys had JJ Keller write a Dispatching for Dummies book.
Chapter 1. RAID the school. Send your recruiter in and administer sunshine injection.
And you come here asking, "Which is better, Werner or Swift?" Why did you limit your choices to those two? "Well those are the two that gave me a sunshine injection and told me I was special!" Hmmm, that sunshine injection may be more potent than weed....well, it is administered anally and absorbed into the bloodstream.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
And we wonder why the public does not respect truck drivers!
TripleSix, joseph1135 and 77smartin Thank this. -
I don't wonder anymore...it's obvious.joseph1135 Thanks this.

I think 95% of us agree that smoking while driving a truck is wrong, but we seem pretty evenly split on the debate of weather using in our free time is wrong or bad.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

I don't think pot use makes anyone wrong or bad. If people want to partake on their free time, I'm all for it. I think alcohol is much worse than weed, I truly believe that. In 10,000 reported years of use, marijuana is not connected to 1 death. Can't say that for booze. And I smoked A LOT of pot. I enjoyed it. Not even gonna lie. But the situation here is, the rules are clear. You cannot use marijuana as a CDL holder. We are required by law to be tested, and they have to let us go if we come up dirty. In order to go trucking, we must abide by those rules and regulations. There's no other option if you want to drive a CMV.okiedokie, De Trucker, Tonythetruckerdude and 2 others Thank this.
