Do me a favor, Mr Blong? Slow down. There was nothing going on so important that you had to run 13 over. Get into the habit of protecting that CDL. Well, that is if you want to be a driver with money in his pockets.

Back in 1998 I got a speeding ticket in St Louis. By the time I got home my mail was covered by attorney ads. I actually looked at one and called them. It cost me somewhere in the $350 area, but the ticket was changed by the court to a noise violation. You might want to see if you can do something like this, if might be cheaper then traffic school.

Go to court, be polite, 85% of the time it's about $$. Get it reduced to something stupid (failure to signal, tail light out, etc.) pay the man.

It's all part of the game, shouldn't cost more than a few hundred bucks.

If you go to court and the officer doesn't show up, no problem, no ticket. Try that, if it works you're good, if he shows, throw yourself on the mercy of the court. It doesn't matter any more what the impact will be, it's too late for that. If you can get out of it you'll be lucky enough to slow down and pay attention to speed signs in the future.

What state are you in and do you have your cdl permit yet? I ask because in IL they have traffic school to avoid a conviction. But once you have your cdl permit you are not eligible

too late, some never learn, and are doomed to repeat in the future.

FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! WITH a lawyer that is.

If you go this road, make sure that will work in your state. In many states driving school ( that's assuming it's even an option, sometimes it's not) will remove the points but the speeding ticket is still on your driving record.

Get a lawyer. Get a lawyer. Get a lawyer.

Whoever said and keeps repeating, "Throw yourself at the mercy of the court" STOP repeating that harmful advice.

Play the courts game = get a good lawyer.

What do you mean he can't void the ticket? Any judge or referee can void or dismiss it.

That said ... if the op has a bad habit driving a car, what makes anyone thinks he won't be speeding in the truck?
