"Have you within the last XXX number of years?"

If attending a private CDL school or community college CDL school, you can get pre-hired if necessary. This way you're cleared with the companies that pre-hire you. About the only thing that would sabatoge a pre-hire is a failed drug test after arriving for orientation.KriegHund Thanks this.

Another good idea.
-
Also read a few story's where people were sent home for failing the company physical.

With those convictions,
you could be running a trucking outfit.............

Usually that's for blood pressure too high or sleep apnea. Both can be fixed rather quickly.dennisroc Thanks this.

Chinatown , how do they check for sleep apnea and what is sleep apnea. Don't know much about it.
I thought it was something to do with sleep ??? -
If a person looks overweight or has a large neck they may check for sleep apnea. Being overweight or having a large neck is an indicator of "possible" restriction to airway during sleep; which "may" mean you don't get restful sleep.
If so, you may be required to us a CPAP machine to test for sleep apnea. The machine must be able to store data for download to ensure you are using the machine.
If you think you may be a candidate for sleep apnea, best to get checked now instead of waiting and possibly being delayed for truck driving school.
Google : sleep apnea
Google : CPAP machines
Some companies will pay for the machine and some won't. Don't know if health insurance will pay or not.
I probably have sleep apnea because I wake up probably a couple dozen times a night. Haven't been checked because I'm not overweight or have a large neck.Last edited: Nov 5, 2015

I do have sleep apnea. I have been using a cpap for several years, just received a newer machine 2 months ago so I am sure it'll be fine. Good thing about the V.A. they don't give you cheap equipment.
