You just got to hang in there as best you can. The guys hauling this crap cheap have zero reserve money and when fuel goes back up they will be dead. Rates will rise accordingly. I really don't expect things to get much better until late next year after the elections.
rholl32 Thanks this. -
Got this blast email today sent broker message asking to removed from his list.

reefer rates? how about the load is only 350 miles.
Guess this broker would think $100 for a 50 mile load would be too much also. -
I had a brain dead one telling me 300 dollars for a 100 mile trip was good.
I tell her yeah right you tie up my whole day and 240 miles for 300 dollars and you want a tarp to
NO Thank you or TQL is better guy told me He said: "Sounds like you don't want to work"?
I tell him not for freefreightwipper Thanks this. -
I never had to deal with a broker and I never want to lol.
Such a waste of time offering cheap rates around. -
That's funny because spot rates going up there from Muscle Shoals are even worse than his rate coming down. Maybe some contract company will jump on that.

Sad thing is a friend that's also an owner operator told me back in 07-08 or whatever he was only a company driver, and was literally begging companies to hire him. But a year after when things got better he got a truck as an owner operator, and lucky for him it's paid off now. -
I have come to the conclusion that most of these broker employees are idiots.
I post my truck and list specific requirements of what I haul in the comments.
And TQL will start calling me at 7am about loads I can't haul.
I've tried he READ FIRST, PLEASE READ , READ THIS and
Now today the start goes IDIOTS READ .
First one called after posting with some load I couldn't haul.
It was TQL I told lady to read the right side of posting she said "I'm an idiot" and laughed.DUNE-T, ChromeNut and freightwipper Thank this. -
Some brokers told me that their internal system copy loadboards info and not the comments???
In the case of TQL she was right...
