Why would I care if Maya Angelou smokes? She's nothing to me. I think it's funny how Neil Young finally stopped drinking and toking (on the advice of his doctor) and, magically, hasn't written a song since. Was he a songwriter before, or was it all the result of random delusions floating around in his drug-addled brain? I also have a hard time believing that marijuana is the ONLY thing that will kill pain. They just wanna be stoned so they won't know if it hurts or not.

Gives you no reason to call me a lier. Also education is not everything, work ethic is more important. My brother had a masters degree and works for minimum wage because he is unmotavated. I have no degree and make decent money

Marijuana is much safer than a lot of perscriptions. A lot of legal pills mess with your body and mind more than weed. Pain pills can mess your life up

    Stop. Stop!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not even funny anymore. Well, it is, but...

    Don't do that!

    "Don't do what?"

Don't play the "Educated Me" card and when someone calls you on it and bets that they can match your education and raises the stakes, don't play the "You Don't Know Me" card. It's a very weak hand. It devalues everything else you say.

I dont care who is more educated then me, pleanty of people are. I said I have no degree. But I cant stand being called a lier. I am far from a lier. People that know me fault me for being brutally honest even when the truth hurts. Why would I lie about high school?

mountaingote I respect your opinion.. However.. like I said before.. until you have a family member who is terminally ill and cannot hold down Jell-o.. much less extremely strong Opiates which themselves have terrible side effects.. you will understand.... or maybe you wont and will just buckle down harder.. Which by definition is called Conformation Bias.

I have seen with my own eyes what good it can do in the right hands.. With people sick with Lupus, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis... So I'm not here to convince you.. But there is so much more to the debate than just allowing stoners to get high. Not allowing Sick people medicine that works just because you don't like what some people do with it seems like something a 3rd world dictator would do.

Still no excuse for smoking and driving a big rig in today's political climate.

Common sense would indicate that you should be able to smoke weed when you're off duty and on home time. Obviously it doesn't make any sense to smoke on a 10 hour break. Doesn't make sense to drink either while on the road, although I can count on one hand the number of times I've drank on an extended 10 hour break.

With that said, current drug testing procedures are ridiculously slanted against weed in particular since it is least harmful yet most detectable in urine well after you stop smoking. Hard core drugs, on the other hand, are gone in 24-48 hours. Until they develop better intoxication testing methods in roadside situations current standards need to remain in place.

I agree with your last statement, fink. I have personally gone without any painkillers after surgery because they all made me sick, so I know about pain. I am a weenie in that department, absolutely hate it, wish I could make it go away
