About the "bobtail only" lanes. The only way to make a truly "Bobtail Only" lane is to make it impossible to bring a trailer through it by having sharp curves, like the Bobtail Only lane at BNSF in Cicero. Anything less than that is just another lane for all to use.

ns croxton, csx south Kearny those are the only ones in the northeast that they have dedicated bobtail only lines, I was sent to a safety class for going thru the south Kearny bobtail only line with the trailer
-
Lol how embarrassing. Were you the only one in the class? And did you get a certificate? Lol
-
nah it was like 7 of us, the safety guy at that facility does safety classes every week for anything from having an attitude with the gate agents, not wearing your seat belt, not cutting the zip tides, and not putting the container in the exact slot, those are the reasons I have been sent to that class if you don't go its an automatic 2 week suspension.

Dang, they take things seriously over there. At Landers in Chicago, you're lucky to see a trailer that is within the lines. 47th St, they don't even have lines.
Pmracing Thanks this. -
I found out this week the NS app can be used at ramps without kiosks. Just enter your information into the app and when you arrive at ramp, tap Ingate and it will give you an Express Code. Just give the rail employee the code. That's it and grab your J1.
