Most hams do not give a crap what people run as long as they stay out of the 10 meter band. When people come to 10 meters, it isn't playing god, but policing what we have been given to use.
AND more often than not the FCC is going to ignore any issue with 11 meter people.

Better design? Well I don't know I know you didn't mention that), the same with performance, I question it because as you said it covers form 12 to 10 meters and the last time I looked those radios don't switch the front end or tune it as it goes through the frequencies.
A good tuned CB will outdo a lot of these export radios for a number of reasons, many don't get that 80% of the rigs performance is related to the antenna, not the radio. -
I run a Mirage 36HP in my truck because I like the performance of the radio. I bought it to replace a Galaxy that wouldn't fit in my KW at the time. I also run a Kenwood 2 meter ham radio which sits on top of the Mirage.
In the future I want to replace the 2 meter with a 2m/70cm dual band ham radio and run a 10-11-12 meter radio instead of the Mirage. The Stryker 955 can do all those bands and can do CTCSS tones with an optional board but I'm not sure it can do the 1MHz frequency split for the repeaters.
A good CB properly tuned is great and would perform wonderfully if the 11 meter band wasn't already so full of crappy radios bleeding all of the channels. -
