I'm having to look at the new plan, I know I turn down a lot of loads with high deadhead.

Boise, ID.
So I did an mt trailer move over the past couple days.
From Reno, NV I bobtailed to Boise, ID to pick up an mt to deliver at Clearwater Paper in Lewiston, ID.
700 paid miles total, for an mt.
Then I picked up a nice load from the Lewiston terminal going to Denver, and I'm back in Boise after exhausting my drive hours for the day. -
Welcome to Boise buddy. Once I get my permit this week I'll have a firm date on when I hit the school in Lewiston and I am pretty excited. Will probably see you on the road time to time if you come through this region alot.
-
I don't get there/here very often, but sometimes more than others.
I've never been crazy about going to Lewiston. It is hard to get to and adds about 100 unpaid miles each way to the trip.
Plus, my internet doesn't work in that area.
Very pretty area, though. I very much like the scenery, and the people are very nice.
Good luck with the permit and school, Sphene.
But it's funny how none of us here seem to meet on the road all that much. I've only met a couple, and I've never run across my mentor since being with him nearly 5 years ago. Being at the same place and time defies the random nature of trucking.Sphene25 Thanks this. -
Boise...home sweet home. I grew in Caldwell. Still have family living in Nampa. The one thing I dislike about GLR is I can't back home for a visit.
I had a similar load to your trailer move. I started in Memphis and bobtailed to Greenville, IN (Indianapolis), picked up an mt then took it somewhere north, can't remember where. Total miles over 900. Had some strange hauls here with Swift. -
When freight is light, Swift will use trailer moves to reposition trucks ...

I don't mind at all, it keeps me moving.
As a company driver I don't have the worries of L/O and O/O drivers.
I saw a bubble map recently which was mostly red, and big.
If they want to pay me to move a trailer that far, I'm game.
And it got me further east, out of CA and the NW.
When I get to Denver I'll be getting to the shop to take care of a couple issues.
I have a check engine light (I'm pretty sure it is a faulty low coolant sensor) and a cracked windshield.
Small stuff that will take a day, and get me back some good hours to work with.
