Mercer said the model and year don't matter as long as it will pass the inspection. Less drivers means less competition over trucks but if all they have is Maxxforce prostars than it won't matter.... I have been researching different lease purchases for a couple years now and was considering Quality before but didn't care for the limited carriers until they got more onboard. I'm excited to lease a truck and get out there but I won't start out during the slow season for flatbed

Not a bad idea. That was my plan and numerous hours of research I've found every answer I was looking for. Just make sure you have all your ducks in a row and know every expense. I'm sure your not dumb, just trying to be helpful

No I get it. I've been doing enough research to learn a lot of drivers just jump into o/o and lease purchase with no planning. Me, I could take the money I have saved go get financing and start now.... or I could wait for income tax have more starting capital do a lease just to get my feet wet and be sure it's what I want before making a big commitment. It is amazing what you can learn with a lot of sifting through the BS on the Internet. Take some info from recruiters some from former lease purchase drivers and hours of reading articles and posts then you can make an informed decision

Cheese who do you plan on leasing on with?
-
Mercer, how ever I've got other things in motion that I may jump into instead. It all depends on how everything looks on paper and economy. I have a feeling of what's coming and I may wait for it yo hit and jump in then.
-
What's coming? Care to elaborate? If you are still planning on Mercer come early spring let me know and maybe we will end up down at orientation together
-
It's hard to explain, but I believe there will be abundance of trucks up for sale within a yr. And maybe, like I said I have no idea yet about mercer or my other gigs I have. I'll have to see when it comes down to it.
-
Ok gotcha. I'm hoping to get a lease going and run my ### off until I have some more money and experience as a o/o then go buy a truck. At least that's the plan
-
It's a decent plan almost like mine.

Well best of luck
