You should be good to go. They may still ask for the affidavit to prove you weren't working "off the books" but I personally don't see any problems. There are HR types floating around here that will probably chime in if they do.

 

Being retired, do you have W-2 forms or check stubs for pension or filing taxes? These will cover the gap in employment.

Many drivers have posted on here they lived off inheritances or retired and they had no trouble being hired.One guy lived off an inheritance for 6 yrs. just having a grand old time, then went to work driving with no problem.I think he went to TransAm, but not positive.

I don't agree that an administrative cancellation of your drivers license is all that serious. As far as the suspension goes its for a non moving violation. Nothing about this is safety related. What it is though is a rather large pain in the caboose. You will have more problems with DMV then you will at a school. Just make sure you do have a regular drivers license and have no issue preventing the issuance of the CDL or permit when you start class. This is like everything else, report it on your application, and be ready to explain what happened.
