Who ever calls always seem like they have a slew of such calls to make, they just run through their little script reminding you to slow down. I would always just say "copy that" so we could both get off the phone quickly and get on with life. Most where just a few mph over, I did have one phone call (my first) about going 86 in a 65 that had my face a little bit red.

I did not love it but I have to admit the system did work to help keep my speed down. I would trigger the system now and then but I did often slow down to avoid that.

If triggered by an event OR remotely.

And I don't get what is so hard to understand about people not wanting cameras in their face 11 hours a day, recording everything they do.

You can see when it's recording. .....don't be super truckers and you shouldn't have to worry about it

Who has time to watch what drivers are doing for 11 hours?

    I didn't say I was worried about it, I said I didn't like it.

And it's not that they can watch 11 straight hours, it's that they can watch at all. The camera is always recording.

Who knows if a remotely triggered recording session flips the lights. It might stay green when they do that, I don't know. The other problem is the microphone. Even if you cover up the camera on your 10, that thing is ALWAYS on. It would just take someone with the power to be curious about what you may be doing... nosy as people are.

Exactly my point of miss use and abuse.. is it really hard to imagine that some night shift person gets a lil bored at night and has the brilliant idea of lets see what the Gary Gears is up too in his truck?? Boom recorded and gary has no idea.. How bout if your company comes and tells ya hey we have a concern of what your doing on home time so we are putting a camera and audio recorder in your car and your apartment.. Oh you don't like that idea?? Unfortunately your only say in the matter is you can quit.... When is enough enough??

Unless they changed it...when I was there it would shut off so after so long the vehicle was shut off...they may have changed that due to all the accidents and super truckers...

dano86 if you believe that they do not have the ability to look at it anytime they choose you are very wrong. Now drivercam may not because they do not own the cameras the carrier does and believe he can look in on you whenever they want to.. I know this as the company I ran for 15 years manufactured service and installed access control equipment. Software and hardware. Part of that hardware is cameras I know exactly how the cameras work the software that runs the cameras how it is recorded where it is stored etc etc... As the manufacturer we did not have access to the cameras unless we had installed it or serviced it. Some companies actually paid us to monitor there cameras.. You would be amazed of not only what we had access to but where we be told to actually install cameras..
