'08 Volvo D12
hi, i have notice an air leak on driver side of engine and traced it to the air valve exhaust pressure governor. i did a little cleaning around it and the leak stopped for a few days but now is back and it is affecting the engine. the truck has no power and its 'choking ". i unpluged the air and electricity from the valve and the truck is fine. my question is should i replace the valve( its pricee $ 700 ) or i can try to find another alternative. What do you guys think? thank you

You have a choice: fix it or live with it

Fix it or lose most of your effective engine brake power

either leave it unplugged or fix it. to replace valve is pretty simple and the 700 price is kind of high you can get it in chicago for about 550 maybe 500

Thanks, guys. I'll probably replace it. Found a new one on amazon for $550. Appreciate you all.

Just had this problem with my 07. Figured I'd run for a bit with just the engine brake only. One trip from Flagstaff down to Phoenix with 3000 lbs in the box was enough to make my mind up. Straight into the shop after I delivered.
