Are you quoting contract rates for the new pay or what YOU make?
I ask because my base is $.965 and goes up from there.
And the current FSC BLOWS CHUNKS! When fuel was in the $3.50-4.00 a gallon range the FSC would pay for 100% of my fuel on light weight loads. Now.....not even close.

Base contract rate ... my base would be .97 on the old contract.

I got a bit of winter today with some snow.
    How fun.

I got as far as I could and I'll have to be driving at 0215 to make my appointment in Denver by 0715.
The stops on this trip have not been spaced so well. Yesterday and today I could have gone farther if I had but another 5-10 minutes on one of my clocks. Today it was the distance between here and Laramie.
    Sometimes I really hate HOS.

And I'm right in the middle of a weather situation. It might get bad by the time I need to pull out.
    We shall see...

Otherwise, a pretty good day. And if I can deliver tomorrow it will make a pretty good week.

Amarillo at the J. On my way to General Mills in Roanoke, TX. Didn't want to go to TX, but I'm avoiding CA since they started making us pull into EVERY open scale.

Check the Wyoming road conditions BEFORE you depart. As you probably know Elk Mountain is no fun at night when it's snowing and the wind is blowing.

    That's the plan.
I'm not even going on duty before I check road conditions.

NOAA radio says (so far) that things should clear up around 0700.
If it looks or sounds bad when I get up at 0100 I'll send a Mac 22 and get a few more hours of sleep.
Better for all concerned if I am a few hours late, than lose the whole load in a ditch.
Plus, I'm a true chicken with this kind of weather.

I was up at 0115, but I-80 was blocked by stalled trucks. About 30 minutes later the highway was closed in both directions from here to Laramie.
The forecast is pretty bad between the snow, ice, black ice and high winds. Weather radio is saying that travel is highly discouraged today and tonight along that stretch.
Looks like I'm stuck here for a while.

I sent a Mac 22 at about 0130 but it didn't go through. I don't have any phone service here either, so I ended up using a pay phone to inform Swift. The Mac 22 finally went through at around 0245, so at least the QC is working again.
And I do have internet, so that is nice.

When I sent my arrival call I received a trailer solution saying that there were no MTs at my location. I did my due diligence and checked, sure enough no MTs (where the customer told me to look) so I sent my MT call and headed for the gate.
I decided to check a trailer I had seem on the way and sure enough it was MT. So I call IGH and instead of my DM answering and putting me on hold the call went to the queue. The DM who answered confirmed that the trailer WAS available so I had him attach it to me and away I went.

Since I don't pick up til 2200 tonight (doing a split now) I'm REALLY glad it worked out this way.

I'm at the Pilot on I-35W in Ft Worth hooked up to Idle Air. Black truck, sun's out, why not! Sure makes taking a split in the middle of the day more tolerable.
