I like them all. They all have there own way of doing things. But if i have to pick 1 it would have to be tanker with hazmat. Aint nothin like 8800 to 9000 gallons of fuel at 70 mph to get the blood going
harlycharly55 Thanks this. -
Personaly im in love with the open deck game. Was a door slammer for years, a few years back got on as a flatbed with my current company. Probly pull open till i retire now...
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I like reefer because of the longer hauls and no waiting for dispatches (at many carriers, not all), which translates to less time screwing around in truck stops, more money, and fewer drops and pickups (hassles and lost time) and see all of the nation during all seasons. I don't have any family ties so it works for me.
Flat, tanker, and van tend to be more regional which is fine or necessary for some -
STexan, I have read lots of comments where people complain that reefer requires long waits to get loaded/unloaded? Has this been your experience?
What about dealing with lumpers? Is it a big hassle?
Do you do a lot of night driving? -
Reefer is the worst. Customers hate you, treat you like garbage, and it's sometimes a wait of 2-10 hours unloading and loading.
Now, Tanker is where it's at! People want to see you. The pay is great. Quick load and unload times.harlycharly55 Thanks this. -
i like van, been doing it now for aver 28 years. i tried flat, it sucked, i tried reefer it sucked, i tried tanker, it sucked.
i found that vans suck less, but then too, i pretty much always had a line haul job, or dedicated job. so a lot of drop and hooks.
as i near my time to call it quits, i see no reason to start anything new.
i hate new
i hate change
i hate chunky peanut butter
i hate mini golf courses
i hate standing in a line at the fuel desk, behind a stinky driver.Mudguppy Thanks this. -
Same here, I like all of it.
Tanker/hazmat best though. Customers make all the difference; most are easy to deal with and much smarter than what you meet at grocery warehouses. Tanker customers are actually glad to see you. Load/unload times are usually short; maybe an hour; of course that can vary due to product loading/unloading.
I ran 48 states doing all of it at one time or another and tanker was the best.harlycharly55 and stevez57305 Thank this. -
I hate the fact that I like your style.
I hate that I sound just like you.
I hate that I hate that. -
we are separated twins.
