I have learned so much about the trucking industry from research over the past few weeks. I have probably spent a couple hours a day for the last few weeks learning about the transportation industry.

Even though I am not close to going to CDL school yet, I wanted to call up a recruiter to just chat. Now I didn't tell the recruiter I was a ways off because I wanted the recruiter to take me serious. Once I started to ask some very detailed questions and was asking some specific questions to break down what the recruiter was telling me, he got all pissed, tried to make me feel stupid, told me I don't think you want to work hard and then hung up on me.

I am so proud of myself.

Couldn't of done it without you guys, thanks.

My theory is that if they have a "recruiting department" or a person there with the title "recruiter", I probably don't want to work there. Unfortunately, most people fresh out of school have to go that route. If you can find a small company in your area that has their own training program, try and get on with them out of school. That's what I did kinda by accident but I'm so glad it worked out that way.

CRE, and he has called me back twice. Persistent guy.

And no, I would never go work for CRE. I just wanted to call a recruiter so see what the experience was like etc..... I'll start calling more an getting serious once I start school.

Do not believe any thing any recruitor tells you . A recruiter is a professional liar. And that is not just for trucking

Recruiters can be very rude and doubt most even like drivers.I would wait till you're ready for the industry before calling anymore recruiters. Most don't wanna take the time talking to any drivers.

Recruiters love uninformed fresh meat. You probably knew more about this industry than he did. Lots of knowledge to be gained here on this site.

Sounds like your headed in the right direction. Good Job.

    Yup.

If there are recruiters on the payroll, that's a sign of turnover issues.

So in other words, recruiters and dispatchers wear the same stripes.

We all know that's true. Either one can be said to be lying if their lips are moving.
