Thank you guys for the wise advice.i think the best idea is what cat sdp suggested just add more track:less drilling and more travel and no need to remove the fifth wheel.as far as weight problem im only gonna be hauling around 25klbs when the fifth wheel is slid all the way back.i got the drilling part down from working on my old step just need bigger bits.thanks again guys

Ya for two feet better put three in. Forgot you wanted to add that much. What I meant by the same drilling is, if you slide the whole unit back, you will use some of the existing holes. You only drill new ones on the back part, same as if you add new track.

You will have cut off rear stops on 5th wheel slide plate on truck now and add stops on sec. you add on rear.
