Have yet to get to Tulare. Been to the mothership (always a joke), Fontana, and Las Vegas out west. I really enjoyed my runs out there for the scenery. CADOT can take that truck speed limit and do other things.....

Fontana was more like the "House of Horrors!" Dont give them your MT even if they demand it!! (Leave the yard and park just north in that industrial loop)
The 'suggested' 55 mph speed limit for trucks in CA is really 60 mph..and for 'alert' drivers, 64 mph......drove CA regularly for 8 yrs and never got a speeding ticket. -
I have only had to go search for an empty once in Dallas. They told me where to go and what trailer to get and didn't have an issue. Other than driving in and around Dallas during rush hour to get it.
Going through Tehatchapi yesterday I was holding 60 down the steeper ones and some guy just blew past me. Had to be going 70. Some guys just say f*** it and roll down that SOB.
Forgot to mention; this yard has rooms for drivers. They have keypads like showers do at truck stops. Small rooms with just a bed from the looks of it.Last edited: Nov 10, 2015

No freight again. I hope I load something today. I don't refuse loads but going forward if I see a load to AZ or CA I'm going to refuse it. This isn't worth it.

My dispatch called and said head for Springdale, AR and they would look for a load along the way. Crazy stuff.
Fajo Thanks this. -
Sounds like you've got a pretty good dispatcher to keep you moving!

I got a call from our driver development manager today and she told me that my former student and I are in the top 3 company wide as having the highest average pay. This is just company drivers.
This is the first time I have been stuck like that since starting with them. Really unexpected to deadhead like this though. -
Misesian, how long was it before they allowed you to bring your pooch out on the road with you?

Terminals are starting to get fed up with phx it seems. Some are intentionally not booking freight to the area as when they do they wont see that truck again for a month. Heads need to roll in the phx office, its making the rest of us stay away from its area.
Finishing up my drop and hook in the morning in Covington, TN. Then got a load to Vegas, If I did not need to finish up the repair on the side of my truck from bambi I would not be heading back until just before Thanksgiving.
