How does Opti-Idle work? I've never driven a truck with one. The DirecTV wouldn't interest me either. I have a 1TB external HD full of stuff and Unlimited broadband with my phone that I can just tether or mobile hotspot. And there's nothing ever good on TV anyways.

Opti idle, you start the truck, push the cruise control sip the 'idle mgt' light is illuminated, go into the sleeper and set the temp you want, set the start temp, 4, 7 or 10°. When the temp in the sleeper teaches your selection the truck shuts down, when the temp reaches your setting the truck starts and runs until the set temp is reached again

That's not too bad. Can you use it all the time? Or only above 75 under 40?

Just used up my 70, home for 34. What a weird run for my last one. I left the yard, ran up to Hershey's in Ogden, they were running late, but hey, I got a free candy bar while I waited. Got my load, ran up to Walmart in Corinne, UT, anyone that has been there knows, you will not be there any less than 3 or 4 hours. Finally got unloaded, deadhead to Darigold in Boise, then back to Salt Lake City to drop load at Esteson, then back to the yard, turned my truck in to the wash bay so they could get to it first thing this morning. But that is how it works for me. I drive my full 70 every week. Then reset at home. 3 good long runs, just over 1000 miles round trip each and then a short run, turn and burn type deal.

Well, at least the recruiter was honest. Most other company recruiters would gladly tell you anything to bring you on board and let you find out the hard way.

I know one of our drivers that lives in Florida and we NEVER go to Florida. He doesn't take a Pride truck home either. Instead, he parks at the terminal in Salt Lake City and takes a plane on his own dime for home time.

So, at least you live three hours away and could park a car at the terminal and drive home.

Be grateful that Pride is honest, rather than the outright "piss on Pride" attitude.

I guess you didn't understand what I said. The recruiter acted like he had no interest in recruiting or looking at options, so my opinion is still piss on pride

    Ohhhh!!! Sorry that I misunderstood!

I was under the impression that an employee had the responsibility of showing, or informing the employer of what they (the employee) could do & would be willing to do.

So yeah.... you're totally right to feel the way you do!

Next time I look for a new job, I'll be sure to take your advice to allow my next employer to tell ME what they're going to do for ME.

After all, I am self-entitled to require a company spokesman to please ME.

When I asked him TWICE he said- and I quote- 'You'll never get there in our truck'. Keep trying, dude, you can't make me feel bad that I don't work for a loser outfit
