I used to drive for the sister company, R/M out of Omaha, and we never sat. Midwest to Cali is all I did, and the only time I sat is when I wanted to.

I used to go to Nash Finch in Fargo ND, truck stops there are pretty crowded in the evening.itaff and scottlav46 Thank this.

If you never sat RM is not ran like Bruenger. That's all they know how to do is let you sit haha. Sit and wait for an outbound load then sit and wait for a back haul. Just the way it is. Maybe they need to learn something from rm.
-
Yeah I had been with them, off and on since 2008 and the only time I sat waiting for an inbound load is when my original load canceled. Now they don't have a load board, or allow you to use brokers like Bruenger, but they will keep you busy.

Hopefully this coming week will turn out to be a decent week! He was going to come home this weekend, but he found a load from KS to PA that they were able to book him on. He'll be getting $1.59/mile ALL MILES to the truck, and it delivers Monday, so he will be starting out the week with a load that covers all the fixed costs and will also cover the fuel for the entire week. So anything else he gets will be his bring home. He's going to shoot for a good week so that he can come home for a couple of days for Thanksgiving.

Fingers crossed that things will get better the more comfortable he gets with things. He's quickly learning what Ivan has already said; that he has to basically bug them to find him something and/or find his own!
The biggest downside of Bruenger that we've noticed is communication. It's very, very lacking. He has said that he should've run after he saw how badly orientation was handled. Nothing against the individual people there, but there's just such a disconnect. The way I see it, these guys, like my husband and Ivan, are Bruenger's business partners. Bruenger needs to start treating these drivers as such or they are going to lose the good ones that will help bring the company's CSA score up! You don't keep them in the dark and make them beg you to do your part of the partnership. You work together to make BOTH of you successful! I mean, seriously, the more successful your guys on the road are, the more successful Bruenger is! It's business 101...scottlav46, mountaingote and itaff Thank this. -
I called Bruenger today, we have a new operations manager (Parker), and I told him about the issues George was having with not getting a load and sitting..
Parker told me to let George know to come see him, and I guess before He even got threw the door of the office, dispatch called and magically had him a load..
It is importian here to be a squicky wheel and let them grease you..
I am hoping and praying for the best for these guys.. I know even right now I am struggling a little bit but I think with the country's GDP down and China not buying or saling product that a lot of us are in for a long winter...mountaingote and gjcarr03 Thank this. -
I am soo glad that he gets a good start towards next week.. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they get him a quick turn around out of PA that pay's decent.. And then maybe a good load towards the house for the holidays.. I'm here for you guys, not a lot I can do, but I will squick with you and hopefully they will keep him going..scottlav46, mountaingote and gjcarr03 Thank this.

Thanks! We appreciate it!

Well, someone else took his load...yeah, so he's still sitting.

ETA: The guy (another Bruenger driver) that took his load wasn't supposed to pick up until today, but he got there just before George last night and called the broker, who gave him George's load number, so he picked that up instead. Dispatch was able to call around this morning to verify everything, so now George, after sitting at the customer all night, is picking up that driver's load today for a Tuesday delivery instead of Monday. Going to the same place and all.Last edited: Nov 15, 2015
