Maybe if I could go back to when I was young I could accumulate some of your wisdom. I've told you several times what was said and by whom, but you 'find it hard to believe'. Believe whatever you want if it makes you happy

It's all good, I like Pride.
We really don't need that kind of attitude at Pride.
I like to be able to walk into the Driver's Lounge and have a good conversation with other drivers. -
It has been quite awhile since I have even been on this site, let alone posted anything.
Things are still going great with Pride. Some changes have taken place as far as the dedicated fleet goes.
But I am getting miles and staying busy. Still getting home when needed, and every other day/night whichever the case may be. Still running to Denver, Reno, Billings, Bozeman, Boise.
The real change took place when Safeway bought out Albertsons and now we do not run to the Albertsons stores in the Denver area, but I have been told we have more freight coming out of Denver than we ever did before. I believe it too, they sent me to Denver empty to pick up a load from Niagra to come back to Salt Lake.Last edited: Apr 7, 2016
Chinatown Thanks this. -
I've preached this so many times. While one size does not fit all, my experience (local vs regional or OTR) is almost spot on with yours. I have no more (and many times less) life as a local driver than I did running regional. Go to bed a 6:00pm so you can get up at 1:00am happens a lot for me which means seeing the wife for about 15 minutes each weekday. Work the 12+ hour day with the commute to and from, and you don't even have much time at home to do more than eat, shower, and sleep.
The only thing better as a local is that you can have both Saturday AND Sunday off...sometimes, if the company you work for doesn't require weekend work. Mine currently doesn't but my dispatcher is always asking, which always gets a "nope" response. My thinking on this is that since I have no life during the week (the whole reason why I run local is to try to have one) then you're not going to take part of my weekend, too.Snowshoes and crazeydude Thank this. -
doesn't pride have the rainbow flags on their equipment?
