I watched the whole thing and surprisingly understood it lol. Bottom line you will pay over 200,000 for the truck in 6 or 7 years while only taking home .20 cents per mile making about $400 a week that whole time. Its like rent a center. You can rent to own the furniture in 18 months. Furniture costs $600 if you bought it at furniture store. You rent it the whole time to own it, It costs 1800. This was the prices in 1984 when they came to our area.

Schneider would be far better than Celedon. They are big enough to give you some options after few months in at least. When I was there you didn't have to beg to go home it was a given either weekly of bi weekly. 3+ weeks out away from home with Celadon not making much money I doubt you'll last long especially with stresses at home.

Thank you sir, I'm gonna give Celadon a shot, seeing as my recruiter, Jessica contacted me with some dedicated NC lanes specifically up my alley, she knows of my wife's troubles and, well, this is the email she sent on 20 Jul,

    Good Morning!! Happy Happy Monday!!

Are you still looking for a place to call home?

Celadon has reopened the hiring for our NC/VA Tobacco Freight lanes..

    DETAILS:
Pay: mileage grid.. $0.32-$0.62 rpm (dependant on trip miles)
    No Driver Unload
    Home Nightly/weeknd
Round Trip movements - multiple turns per day from same shipper
**ORIENTATION IS DONE IN NORTH CAROLINA**

Been in contact with her and she told me that my orientation would be done in Celadon's Richmond terminal, that way, I could self-drive to orientation.
I told Jessica that I had some job leads local to me and asked if Celadon could wait to see if I can stay local because of my wife's health, she was okay with that. So if the jobs I just applied for don't pan out, she told me to report to orientation when I can. Just let her know a week ahead of time.

So I'm thinking if Celadon is being this compromising to me now, as a trucker that's not yet an employee, how well would they treat me as a company driver?

Remember, she is a recruiter and will say anything to make the job seen ideal. Your dispatcher and superiors won't give a #### about your situation and whatever you discussed with your recruiter won't matter.

I wouldn't be surprised, when you get to Celadon orientation, the local job has suddenly been filled. But they have plenty of OTR openings....

Going for a roadtest tomorrow with FEDEX ground, if that doesn't work out, my wife told me to go ahead and call Celadon's recruiter and tell her to schedule me for orientation next Monday (10/23/15). I absolutely HATE things not being "set", hate everything being "up in the air". If FEDEX ground falls through, I guess I'm going OTR with Celadon o_O.
