The truck was originally owned by Powell Landscaping which far as I know is still in business today. They sell plants, shrubs, flowers and small trees to Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, Farm and Tractor supply etc etc. Pulled a van.

It was traded and went to auction where my carrier bought it.

I have some auxiliary buttons on my panel. Never tried them with the pig tale plugged into the trailer.

What perplexes me is that my trailer has 2 different plugs,.. and as much as the second pigtale on my truck is a mystery to me,.. so is the second plug on the trailer. Its a 2013 53' Fontaine step. No dump valves or axles lifts. It has a sliding rear axle. Which I flip a valve on the trailer and it raises the suspension to its maximum height while also locking the brake on the last axle. I then pull the plunger button to release the pins. Must have air to the trailer for this all to work. Opposite of van or reefer sliding axles. I pull the trailer brakes and the plunger releases the pins. I rock it forward and back a bit to make sure its locked in. Then flip the valve back for the suspension to return to its normal height.

In the future I'd like to have the front axle lift. Probably sell or trade the trailer before that ever happens,.. LOL

The 2nd non-primary plug on the trailer is yellow.... er,.. yellow-ish. More like a dark piss color.

The second pigtale on the truck looks identical to the main one. I had to put black electrical tape on my main one because I got them confused once when I had them separated for a few weeks while each was at different places for service.

You might be on to something.

I have trailer ABS codes come up in my fault display. I dont have the ABS light on the side of the trailer come on. But the ABS on the trailer has never worked like ABS should work. I had an emergency stop once when a car decided it was a good idea to stop for a yellow in front of me when I had plans to run the light because I didnt think he would be stupid enough to stop short in front of a semi truck. Fooled me,.. ABS on truck kicked in,.. but trailer dragged both axles as they locked up in a cloud of smoke.

I'm going to have to experiment with that. Going to need to find a safe out of the way place.

    Thank you.

Possibly they had one of those three wheel forklifts hanging off the end of the trailer? Could have been used in conjunction with that when chugging down the highway?

It keeps batteries charged if aux power is needed for a lift gate. The hydralics pull alot of juice and have there own power source. When i ran ford out of houston i would plug up a daycab that had 1 to the trailer and let it run while it was at the dock. I had a trailer die on me 1 night and i had to unload my last 2 stops by hand. I learned my lesson real quick after that.

We have 2 plugs on our trucks but the second one is near the pintle hitch. I have only used it twice in 2 years. First time was moving these.

I was not going to make the destination before dark so I needed the marker lights working on the trailer but they also blocked the view of the tail lights to I put my light bar on the back and hooked that to the plug near the pintle hitch.

The other thing that those plugs are sometimes used for is tarp controls for dump trailers and dump controls for side dump trailers and belly dumps.
