For me: I work at the same company, out of Omaha as Panhandle Flash, refer, meat loads out of Omaha to the Northeast. I drive an average of 13K miles per month, at 41.8 cpm (with Northeast bonus, other broken down as part of cpm). Have to do some driving around tolls, usually is driving at the limit of legal to get our outbound loads delivered on time. Then can be a mixed bag making our way back to Omaha. Can be stuck messing around, sitting a day with no load or fighting traffic in the Northeast working our way out.
Paper logs, I use a laptop version to produce them.
Equipment is awesome. I drive a 2015 International Prostar , has the good stuff like APU, air assist, etc. like TA trucks (all the stuff except Satellite Radio ) near all of our trailers are 2015, some 2014. Don't think I have ever pulled anything pre 2014. Truck is run through the shop for inspection, PM and wash every time I pass through Omaha.
I was with TransAm a little over 1.5 years in the driver's seat. Current company says they want 1-2 years of experience but really could have gotten in with 8 months of clean, solid experience with TA.

I would still run Windows XP if Microsoft still supported it. I like Lubuntu but I don't really know it well enough to use it day-to-day. Stuff like my laptop logbook program also will not run on it.
Weather channel web page said I80 wb it was closed near the Love's in Newton due to a jackknifed semi.jaso37 Thanks this. -
I get 38 cpm with an extra 10 cpm for NE travel.
I started at 33 so im making decent for me.passport220 Thanks this. -
Passport you can run both Windows 7 and Lubuntu on your laptop. You just have to set it to dual boot. You can also run a Lubuntu live cd anytime you want to use it without actually installing it.

Yeps, I run it off a USB for a specialty program (WiFi crack) I use sometimes. I could use "#### Small Linux" for that but I like to play around with a full sized Linux just cause.Evomalo Thanks this.

I run Lubuntu because my laptop is really a netbook. It doesn't have much power. It had Windows 7 but it was dragging it down a lot.

We get a flat $150 for any outbound load that delivers east of I-81. $200 to NYC ( I choose not to make NYC runs, Flash does).
I then break down the bonus and spread it over all miles I drive to come up with an overall cpm for my driving, just so I can compare it to market rates. -
Still sounds like a good paycheck. It's good you don't have to do NYC. I have to go when they send me. I learned a good lesson there very early in the morning. When the toll lane says cash only. They mean cash only. They turned me around so I was able to do ezpass. It would have been impossible during the day.passport220 Thanks this.

Anyone tried using a pressure washer on the trailers when they need cleaned out? I get tired of looking for a washout and wasting time waiting in lines.
I am kind of thinking of something like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Champion-...PSI-Compact-Portable-Pressure-Washer/22419567
I don't know if gas is the best option but you can get it anywhere. Add a few gallons of water and it could save me a 60 mile trek sometimes looking for a washout.
It's only 18.0x14.0x18.0 so it might fit under the bunk....
