Freight seems to be less than desirable everywhere. So me being power only, anything 1.60 and above would be decent.

Currently freight from Marietta Georgia to Florence Nj coming up for 2,395. So it comes out to 2.74 a mile. So it's a decent rate nothing spectacular but it's light and it's one pick one drop. It's a good backhaul

A direct freight manufacturer. I don't think you can find those rates with brokers. I know some guys on here love to lease on and use brokers and they are much more convenient but I can't see brokers paying those rates they tend to suck the money up before it reaches the trucker.

As long as guys keep taking cheap freight, brokers will continue to pay cheap rates.

Landstar currently has van loads listed from Conyers, GA to Hanover, NJ for $2,400 on 882 miles. Rates going back are around $1,066

Decent stuff is out there, unfortunately slow season is approaching. And the industry is flooded with guys who will do things for unbelievably cheap rates. And I know what your saying, I am an o/o as well and if your not working your not making money.

No. I just looked up the loads on The Internet Truckstop and there they were.

Look at it a little closer. It picks up Tuesday and delivers on Saturday. It's haz-mat and requires driver assist. Even if it delivered on Wednesday it'd be a tall order booking a $1,000 back to GA with a van the day before Thanksgiving. That load might be OK for someone who lives up there and is home for the holidays. For someone who lives in GA it's a big loser.
