I believe legally you are supposed to log line 4 for any time spent at another job. No one does it. Uber would have a digital record of everything you did though. I imagine after a catastrophic truck wreck that time better be accounted for and not mess up a reset or 10 hour break. I have some weeks where I only work 3-4 days so it could work for me as long as I got a reset in before going back out. I imagine my dispatcher might get a little pissed if he called me to save his ### on a last minute hot load and I couldn't work because of it.

I'm glad you feel that way. I'm not sure I do any more. I use to. But idiots prove me wrong almost daily. I won't blame CRE or Swift or WalMart. I blame us drivers.Camelclutch Thanks this.

Taxi waits are crazy. Uber is like 2 minutes.
And some of them have disco balls, and they have chargers for every phone and candy some have beer. Uber drivers dgaf all about customer satisfactionramblingman Thanks this. -
You are correct. Technically you should be logging line 4. So if you're home for 4 days...say Friday-Monday. And want to cart drunk college girls around during graveyard shift Friday and Saturday then you can get a 34 in before reporting back to work on Tuesday.

I live in a huge college town and more than once my friends and I have drunkenly jumped in the wrong Uber.
First time no one noticed until we all jumped out of the car. Caught a free ride to the wrong side of town lolSneakerfix Thanks this. -
I've used Uber quite a bit in the past year, with zero bad experiences. Mostly from airport to lodging on out of town gigs, but occasionally the reverse. Prices comparable to taxi companies (at least in the Akron-Canton OH area) but much, much better service. YMMV.

Do you log line 4 on all your truck maintenance/ paperwork and such? Those hours should come off the top too....
Wouldn't want you to drive tired . -

I do not. Mostly because I'm smart enough to drop my truck off at the shop, grab an Uber and head to the hotel. What dumb ### sits around their truck waiting for work to be done?truckon Thanks this.

Someone that wants the job done correctly.........
My point was if your not logging all the time you spend working on the truck ( even dropping it off) and doing paperwork/ fueling. Then you shouldn't crab about someone driving for their car for $$ while off duty......fargonaz Thanks this.
