Don't be stuck on Freightliner and don't be picky about how far away the truck is from you. You will get more choices. If you cannot afford to go and get the truck, you should not be buying one.

How you need to figure the pricing here is how you do it. Todays value of good running truck minus the cost of an inframe. At one million miles you need to subtract the cost of an inframe. There are other parts on that truck that also have very many miles on them that you need to account for also. Here is how I would value a truck...

Good operational truck with low miles in the year range you have been posting.... $35,000
Subtract the cost of an inframe..... Never seen one less than $20,000 that leaves $15,000
Now I subtract the cost of one of the other three major items, drives and transmission, say $5,000
So in the end I have a price of $10,000 and I will try to get it for less than that. They will come back with "I have more than that in it", well it is not your problem that they overpaid.

Now you still have to be ready for all the little things like kingpins, brakes, bearings, u-joints and so on. If you are going to buy something like what you have been posting you might want to buy a spare. Not that a truck cannot go several million miles, it is just that these have not been worked on yet.

Oh and whoever posted 10k for an overhaul....:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: If you were to find one, I would not trust it or we are talking two different things because when I say overhaul, that means EVERYTHING including the head.

About $10k overpriced but I'd expect that out of a dealer. If the motor was taken care of you should get over million outta the old girl. Me personally if it was specd for what I wanted to do and the rig dig, dyno and mechanic inspected checked out I'd prob pull the trigger being that it's a 09

An 09 came from the factory with emissions. I'd want to know who converted it. pay special attention here to this. If done right, it's a great improvement, if done cheap, it's a nightmare waiting to happen.
