Unfortunately most mega outfits are like this : lying, cheating, stealing from new uniformed drivers ...
Been there done that -
It was your choice to go with them, Amber Dog, you went there of your own free will. There's only about 76 million negative posts about Celadon available 24/7, right here. 8 weeks for school? Bad training support? Why did you put up with that kind of stuff? I know you struggled, but you're stronger now, hopefully. And don't feel put out that the school "didn't teach you to drive the truck, they taught you how to pass the test," because that is the exact purpose of a CDL school. You did get your CDL, right? A few bumps? They won't matter in a few more years. I hope you find a good position and become a good, satisfied driver earning a good living for yourself and those you care about. Best. J

Worst part is, this is the only industry they get away with doing that.

Just this week Celadon has renamed its driving schools in the US and Canada to Celadon Driving Academy.
Previously, they were known as Quality Drivers School. The name change takes effect immediately at all locations in the US and Canada, Celadon announced.
It also has purchased four TransSimVS driving simulators for use at its flagship Indianapolis academy. -
... Life gets better without these Mega fleets, of courseMountain mama Thanks this.

Yes I am.
Are any of these outfits paying you off the hub miles you drive? No, you're getting shorted at least 10% on HHG. Let's say for example that you drive 100,000 miles in a year, that's 10,000 miles/year they're stealing from you. At best, you might get Practical Miles, but they're still ripping you off by around 5-7%.
What about all those 15-minute marks you write in the funny book? Are they paying you pre-trip the truck? Fuel? Check-in, check-out at shippers/receivers? What about all that time spent waiting to be loaded/unloaded that gets buried on line 2? In that case, you MIGHT get some detention pay....after 2+ hours. Same deal with waiting around for loads, breakdowns, weather, traffic, PM's on the truck. The list goes on and on and on.
These guys here telling you to jump to another mega crack me up. Guess what? They all got 80-100%+ turnover rates just like Celadon.
If you're gonna jump ship, might as well at least hire-on to a reefer outfit. Freight is slow overall, but a reefer will keep you moving out West for as long as you like. -
And that is certainly not a new phenomenon.

This industry was soooo much better before the internet. "Driver advocate"? WTF? Suck it up, Buttercup.
