I have over heated a few sets of them a couple times in a row. Maxed out the temp gauge on the dash. Those rear ends still haven't let go yet.

I lost 3 in the same truck in less than 1 month. 1st one was the back pumpkin that had over 1 Mill on her that just was worn out called high HP motor heavy loads. I had been screaming about slack in it for a while Foreman was like Nothing wrong with it keep driving it Dummy. It blew 30 miles from my final empty of the week and 60 from the Yard limped her home on the Power Divider. 2nd and 3rd where a direct result of the 1st one since the Foreman used a Cheapo Rebuild shop for his parts. I got it back and the truck was not happy Rear diff was running hot it was not pulling right MPG was down and stuff like that. Something was wrong in that reman I knew it however the Foreman was like YOUR A DUMB DRIVER and have no clue about what makes these things work.

Well I was heading out to Denver when old Rose made her feelings known how SHE REALLY FELT. She blew the Rear Pumpkin apart put the Ring Gear Thru the Axle HOUSING broke all 4 axle Shafts took out the Front Pumpkin and Power Divider plus the Drive shafts up to the Carrier Bearing. Why did she do all that the Reman had been set up with the Pinion Shaft TO TIGHT and had burned the bearing out at speed and dropped it into the Ring gear doing over 65 MPH.

I had a rear go out on me on the Oklahoma Turnpike near Tulsa and I didn't get any warning whatsoever it just exploded leaving me stranded on the side of the road. It was a brand new truck by the way with less than 15,000 miles on the truck.

    A bit more than that.

Our Mack Visions have 23k rated drive axles and 12k rated steers.
