    Hey guys,
I've been looking into different flatbed companies, I applied with TMC, Maverick, Swift and Melton. Maverick does not hire out of Florida, Melton was the only other one to even call me back....I spoke with the recruiter and of course everything sounds wonderful but I'm wondering how much of it is honest. She said i could start in December or wait until January if i wanted. Melton drivers, hows life working for them? are you getting the pay and home time the recruiter said you would? I would just like to learn as much as I can before i commit to anything...
    Thanks guys.

a lot of companies don't BUT I see you're in Florida so your options are limited.

Besides the cameras Melton has a good reputation for a starter. They at least make an effort to take care of you. I know a good guy over there making money and happy as a clam.
    Have fun and be safe

Exactly, the issue is being in FL, not a lot of freight running through here...Cassanova is your friend a member here?

He's not. I just spoke with him last week though. Says they get him home about every 2 weeks, getting good miles, loves his new blue KW. I think he said they started him at 43/mile

Seems accurate, The recruiter told me being in north FL I'd get home every 10-12 days for 3-4 days ......Seems too good to be true....

10-12 days in Florida does seem special for a company driver. Really depends on Meltons freight lanes. It's possible theyve got an account in Jacksonville or a run that goes through there.

I'm thinking they might, as she stated the guys that live in south FL such as Miami are out for 4-5 weeks but since I live close to GA i could get home about every 10-12 days......and have 3-4 days at home at a time...I'm kinda apprehensive about that
