Old trucks are as much (or more) of a gamble than new ones. If you don't need or want to run California then a older truck might be better for you.
D32 Thanks this. -

Depends on what you need the truck to do.
Do you know what you want to do with the truck?
What rear ends do you need to do it with?
What trani do you need to do it with?
How much horsepower do you need?
How much does the truck weigh?D32 Thanks this. -
Hauling dry freight of all kind max scale is 45k. Recently took over step pops authority I've been booking loads past year and putting my first driver on the road. I'm not educated on trucks so I've been doing research before I take this gamble. With freight being down its a bigger risk. I thought I was protecting myself by getting 2012 Model with extended warranty. Han having a small overhead of about 1600 a month including insurance

It depends if the unit had the cooler cores changed in the past, and the condition of the DOC and HP turbo. Honestly though, 2012 was a horrible year for a horrible engine. Please look elsewhere.
