Slick: Excuse me for running off at the mouth and not answering your question.
One of everything would be exceptional and I have seen some impressive 4070's also.
Common problems on all old trucks are parts are discontinued and if you buy a parts truck most of the same parts are worn out.
Serial numbers are often repeated in time and you may or may not be able to buy parts by serial number. Sometimes a parts man at a different dealer can track it back to the correct truck.
If you have the last 8 of the vin. call the dealer and ask for price and availability of some common parts like a wiper motor, window regulator, and windshield. Then look on line. Model specific parts are the most difficult and that will give you an idea of what you are up against.

I had alot of the same problems with my 359. Alot of time I'd call the dealership and ask for a part and they say we are only showing one or two of the part in the whole country lol. It seems that the most popular of the old trucks are 359 and w9. There is a local truck store that sells aftermarket parts for older stuff but it ain't exactly the same and don't fit the same which requires some tweaking to fit.My wife suggested to get something a lil newer however even the earlier model 379s etc will run you 30k for something decent.

Where is that 372? I'd really like to find one. I also like the Transtar. I own two 4300s, International parts department is pretty good, if you need something that is not stocked they usually find it somewhere in the network and have it the next day, not sure if they go that far back though.

Sorry for the late reply. Been a busy thanksgiving. The 372 is local in my small town. The gentleman bought it new I believe. It does run. I've been trying to catch the guy around his shop to get permission for some pics
