I just would treat it as a day being paid to drive in LA. enjoy the sunshine, enjoy the great sites of LA and the valley.

I loved it out there, being stuck in traffic Friday night trying to get to LAX at 3am to pick up fish for some rich guy's hollywood party on Saturday.

Yeah, we load fuel at the port and it's really difficult. Google street view and satellite will save your life and license possibly.

How much you get? That matters

Are you cheap? 700 a week or less!
Are you fat and happenin at 1700 a week?
Is whatever you get good for your market?
    Hourly? Loadly? Percentage-ly?
Curious...I have my limits , and can be bought off, lol

use the smith system. you be fine. And yes L.A is not only narrow on some street. The people on the rd are some time reckless. Just take it slow. No freight is that important to russ.

No doubt. I use satellite view for unfamiliar addresses all time. This is good for knowing ahead of time where the docks are, what driveway to use, or which route avoids going through a residential area which may be a no truck street. Sometimes the address is on one street, but the entrance is on the adjacent side street. Just knowing that can save a ton of time avoiding a looonnng trip around the block.

The other drivers in your company probably know the lay of the land real well, as they've been doing it for awhile.
Your just getting started, smooth = fast. Smooth, smooth, smooth. I'd bet my paycheck your a long way from smooth right now.
For you, right now, fast just equals F/U. Smooth, smooth, smooth, speed will come all by itself.

I have a rule that I never turn into anywhere I haven't been to until I get out and see where it goes etc. on top of google earth. Saved me quite a few times.

I "heard" medical marijuana has some strains made for anxiety.
